CSA box planner

How much should you harvest this week?

Plan the box once for a full share. Get the amount of each item for every share size, and a harvest list for the whole week. It's free, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

The numbers below are an example farm. Replace them with yours.

1

Your shares

Each size next to a full share (a half share is 0.5), and how many members get one this week.

2

This week’s full share

What goes in one full share. The price is optional (on a wider screen): add it to see what each box is worth.

3

A little extra

For anything you cull at the wash station, and a spare box or two.

How to plan a CSA box

Plan the full share first

Decide what goes in one full share, then let every other size follow from it. It’s one plan to think about instead of one per size, and the sizes stay fair to each other.

Round the way you pack

Half a bunch of carrots isn’t something you can hand out. Counted items round to whole units, and weighed ones to a quarter pound. When a small size would round to nothing, it skips that item this week, or you give it a little extra of something else.

Harvest a little extra

Some heads won’t make the cut at the wash station, and a box gets dropped. A few percent on top of the exact count saves a second trip to the field.

Check what each box is worth

Add what each item sells for, and you’ll see each size’s box value next to your share price. Over a season, the boxes should add up to what members paid.

Plan it once, every week

Copia’s harvest planning does this for each delivery date in your Shopify store: enter a full share and every size follows, with harvest totals and a pack list for each member.
