Changelog
What's new in Copia — features, updates, improvements, and fixes.
Add-on Quantity & Frequency Controls
Admins can now configure how members subscribe to add-ons, with granular control over quantity and delivery frequency directly from the add-on settings.
-
Admin settings (Share Types → Add-ons → Edit Add-on): Choose which delivery frequencies members can select: every delivery, every other delivery, monthly (every 4th delivery), or just this order (one-time). Enable multiple to let members choose, or just one to lock it in automatically. Optionally cap how many units a member can subscribe to per delivery. Set to 1 to hide the quantity picker entirely.
-
Member-facing stepper: When selecting an add-on during signup, members see quantity and frequency controls based on your settings. Multiple allowed frequencies show a dropdown; a single frequency shows as a read-only label (e.g. "Every other delivery"); a quantity input appears only if max quantity is greater than 1 or unlimited.
-
Adding a member manually: When adding or editing a member's add-ons from their member page, the same quantity and frequency options appear, scoped to what's allowed for that add-on.
-
Member portal (My CSA → My Add-ons): Members can now manage recurring add-on subscriptions directly from their account. They can view all active subscriptions with price and frequency, edit quantity and frequency inline within the limits you've set, remove a subscription at any time, or add a new one from available options.
Personalized box breakdown in delivery emails
Members will now see a personalized breakdown of their box in delivery emails that includes:
-
Add-ons
-
Items that were swapped (with the original item noted)
-
A greyed-out version of items excluded based on their "Never Include" preferences.
See & change a member's season
Member detail cards now show the active season alongside the share type. Admins can switch a member to a different season directly from the Edit Membership modal.
Auto-resume date for holds
When putting a membership on hold, admins can now set an optional resume date. The membership will automatically reactivate on that date so there's no need to remember to do it manually. Members can also set a pause duration from their own member portal.
Pack list swap labels
Swapped items will now show their original item in the pack list (e.g. Potatoes (swapped: Cremini Mushrooms)) so packers know exactly what substitution was made. The swapped item's unit is also now pulled from the replacement item, not the original.
Harvest totals now reflect swaps and exclusions
Harvest planning totals now correctly account for member swaps and "never include" items. Quantities for swapped-out and excluded items are reduced, and swapped-in items have their counts increased accordingly.
Add-ons in harvest planning and pack list
Add-ons now appear in the pack list per member and in the harvest planning totals, so you'll know exactly how many of each add-on to prepare for delivery. Admins can also now set a unit (e.g. "dozen", "loaf") on each add-on from the Add-ons page.
Import Members from CSV
Farmers can now import their existing member list from any CSV file. No specific format required. A four-step wizard walks through uploading the file, mapping columns to member fields (name, email, phone, organization), setting enrollment defaults (share type, size, billing frequency, payment method, fulfillment type, pickup location, and whether to generate packages), and previewing every row before committing. Works with exports from Farmhand, Mailchimp, Google Sheets, and Excel.
-
Each row in the preview can be individually edited so you can fine-tune settings per member before importing.
-
Duplicate emails and phone numbers are flagged automatically, keeping the first occurrence and skipping subsequent ones.
-
Imports run in the background so large lists don't time out, and a progress bar tracks the job in real time.
Sortable Columns, Filters, and Pagination
The Members list is now significantly more useful for larger farms. Every column (Name, Email, Share Type, Size, Season, Pickup, Packages, and Status) is sortable by clicking the column header, with a second click reversing direction.
-
A new Share type filter lets you narrow the list to members of a specific product (e.g., show only Veggie Box members).
-
The Share column has been split into Share Type (the product name) and Size (Full, Half, Jumbo), so the list reflects your actual product structure instead of just tier names.
-
Pagination has been added with a configurable page size: 10, 25, 50, 100, or show all members at once.
Automatic Billing for Members Without a Saved Card
Weekly billing wasn't actually charging manually added members without saved cards automatically, and there was no way for them to add one ahead of time. Now, the first time a member with no card on file comes up for billing, they get a Shopify invoice they can pay online instead of you having to manually swipe their card. Once they pay it, their card is saved and every delivery after that bills automatically, just like everyone else.
-
You control what happens if someone doesn't pay that invoice before their delivery day (Settings → hold the delivery, ship it anyway, or fall back to collecting on-site).
-
The Billing page now shows you how many members are in this "awaiting first payment" state.
Email Reply-To Fix
Every email Copia sends says "reply to this email" but replies sent to no-reply email. Now they land in your contact email instead.
Mobile Billing Date Picker Fix
Running billing from your phone or tablet had a broken date picker on some browsers where every day showed as un-clickable except today, forcing you to create manual POS orders as a workaround. Replaced it with a calendar that works the same on mobile as it does on desktop.
Clickable Member Names in Billing
You can now click a member's name right from the billing preview to jump to their profile.
One-Time Add-ons
Members who don't want to commit to recurring add-ons can now add one-time add-ons (like an egg carton or honey) to a specific upcoming delivery directly from their My CSA portal.
Multiple Memberships
Customers enrolled in more than one CSA share can now switch between their memberships from a single My CSA page and manage each one independently.
Customizable CSA Shares
Copia can now support customizable CSAs shares! Members can now choose exactly what goes in their box each week directly from their My CSA portal. Admins set a cutoff window (in days), and Copia automatically sends members an email notifying them it's time to build their box before that window closes.
Member Portal Controls
Farm admins can now choose which self-service options are visible to members on a per-share-type basis, including item exclusions, dietary notes, swaps, and whether credit is applied automatically. Hide the features that don't apply to your operation.
Trial Box Stepper
A full one-time trial box signup flow for products tagged copia-csa-trial. Auto-detects the season and share tier, lets members pick a pickup location, and supports both online payment and pay-in-person at pickup.
Pay in Person
CSA members can now choose to pay by cash, card, or EBT on each delivery day instead of paying at checkout. The flow routes directly to a reservation API and skips the Shopify cart entirely.
Charged vs. Collected Split in Billing Runs
Billing runs now distinguish between orders charged via Shopify Draft Orders and orders collected in person, with accurate counts for each shown per run.
Edit Membership from Member Detail
Admins can now edit a member's share tier, billing frequency, pickup frequency, pickup location, payment method, and credit balance directly from the member profile.
Import Box Items from Collection
Bulk-add products to your Box Template or Harvest Planning window by selecting a Shopify collection. Pick and choose which products to include, select variants for multi-variant products, and add them all at once.
Manage Add-ons on Member Detail Page
Admins can now add or remove add-ons (e.g. Egg Share) from an existing member without removing and re-enrolling them. Adding an add-on mid-season automatically increases all pending delivery charges by the add-on price. Removing it decreases them.
Link Add-ons to Shopify Products
Each add-on can now be linked to a Shopify product or variant, using the same product search and variant picker already available in Box Templates and Harvest Planning. The live inventory level is shown when a product is linked.
Rebuild Delivery Schedule
When a season's start date, end date, or cadence changes, existing member packages no longer update automatically. A new Tools section on the season's Box Template page lets admins trigger a rebuild which deletes all pending (uncharged) future deliveries and regenerates them from the current season dates. Charged, skipped, and held deliveries are never touched.
Unskip Deliveries
Admins can now unskip a delivery directly from the member detail page. The Unskip button appears next to any skipped delivery in the upcoming deliveries table and restores it to Pending.
Variant-Aware Product Deduplication
When a product variant is already linked to a box item, the same product still appears in search results so a different variant can be added as a separate item. A product is only hidden from search when all of its variants are already in use.
Shopify Inventory Sync for Box Items
Box items can now be linked to a Shopify product. Once linked, Copia keeps your Shopify inventory in sync automatically as you plan your boxes.
-
Box Template (Seasons → Box Template) — Link any item to a Shopify product when building your season template. Setting or changing the quantity updates inventory when applied to pickup or delivery windows.
-
Harvest Planning — When you add an item to a pickup or delivery window, Copia subtracts (quantity per share × members in that window) from your Shopify inventory. Editing or removing the item updates inventory to match.
Billing Frequency When Adding Members Manually
When adding a member manually in the Members tab, you can now select from your predefined billing frequency options. Choosing Pay full season upfront automatically marks all of that member's orders as charged.
