Creating delivery routes
How Copia builds and optimizes routes for your drivers.
Overview
If you deliver to member homes or drop sites, Copia can generate an optimized route for each driver based on your pickup locations and active members. This saves time on the day of delivery and reduces fuel costs.
Setting up pickup locations
Before building routes, make sure your pickup locations are configured:
- Go to Copia → Settings → Pickup locations
- Add each location with a full street address
- Set the pickup day and time window
Accurate addresses are required for route optimization to work correctly.
Generating a delivery route
- Go to Copia → Delivery → New route
- Select the pickup week
- Choose which locations to include
- Click Optimize route
Copia calculates the most efficient driving order using your locations’ addresses and returns a turn-by-turn route you can share with your driver.
Assigning routes to drivers
You can assign a route to a specific driver by entering their name or email. They’ll receive a link to their route that opens in Google Maps or Apple Maps — no app download required.
- From the route view, click Assign driver
- Enter the driver’s name and email
- Click Send route
The driver receives an email with a link to their optimized route. The link opens directly in their preferred maps app.
Exporting a manifest
Each route includes a delivery manifest — a list of stops in order with the member name, address, and share type at each stop. You can print this or export it as a PDF.
Go to Copia → Delivery → [route name] → Export manifest.
Multiple drivers
If you have multiple drivers covering different areas, create a separate route for each driver and assign the relevant pickup locations to each.
For example:
- Driver 1: north-side drop sites
- Driver 2: south-side drop sites + home deliveries
There’s no limit to how many routes you can create for a given week.
Tracking deliveries
Drivers can mark stops as complete as they go using their route link. You’ll see progress update in real time under Copia → Delivery → [route name]. This gives you visibility without needing to text back and forth.
